Applique & Trapunto Class - Poppies
Applique that looks like needleturn but is all sewn on the machine class, Including Trapunto added into the applique, that adds dimension & life to your applique pieces.
This lovely and very popular applique piece has a finished size of
approx 12” x 16 1/2”. Approx the size of an A3 sheet of paper.
My Applique LOOKS like Needleturn, BUT is ALL SEWN on the SEWING MACHINE.
I've been using this same Applique technique for over 30 years now,
so I'm very proficient within this applique technique, and all my major award winning quilts are created with this same technique & the same for the trapunto as well, with over 30 years of experience and trapunto is something that I totally specialise in.
This piece is taught as an Applique & Trapunto class which is a
2 day class with trapunto added under the applique, which is how I create all
This is achievable to finish within the two days but students do need
to keep working to get through this one..
As everyone within a classroom works at a different pace & skill level,
these times can only be a guide line.
This class definitely starts ONE HOUR earlier than normal on day one,
as I spend the first hour teaching everyone how to set their machines up to use monofilament thread.
This is an important step and is almost a class of it's own.
Monofilament thread is something that many people struggle with, & I started teaching students how to set their machines & tensions correctly to sew monofilament thread many years ago. I've never had anyone that could not get their machines set correctly... maybe one day I will....
I need to allow One full hour to do this.
It worked so well that I also wrote a paperback book on
"How to set your machines to sew monofilament thread",which has proved
to be a very popular book world wide.
Class runs from 9.00 am until 4.00 pm or 9.30 am till 4.30 pm.
This means that students need to be set up & Ready to start at 9.00 am
on day one, day two will start at 10.00 am.
